Shaun White failed to medal in snowboarding’s halfpipe event yesterday, coming in fourth overall. White fell during his first run and was outgunned by Switzerland’s Iouri Podladtchikov and his so-called YOLO flip – a switch frontside double cork 1440. Two Japanese snowboarders earned silver and bronze in the event. It was a big night for Team USA in the luge, however, as Erin Hamlin took home a bronze in women’s individual competition – the first-ever medal for an American in this event. Devin Logan also earned a silver medal in women’s slopestyle skiing. Today, be sure to catch Shani Davis as he races for a third consecutive gold medal in 1000 m speed skating, and Kelly Clark in the women’s slopestyle snowboarding event.
